New features preview: Rich local area map controls

We've been busy beavering away as usual to add more cracking features into the property marketing mix and this latest development to the Marmoset app is no exception. Our local area maps are in the process of getting a host of enhanced functionality to make searching for local points of interest near your development a whole lot more delightful. Take a look below for a sneak preview of what these upcoming features look like:

Search for custom locations

Whilst showcasing a selection of amazing amenities around your development is great, we have now added a way to tailor this to you prospective buyers. The new search feature allows users to search for any location and get times, distances and directions for walking, driving and public transport to the development. This gives buyers a chance to explore exactly what they want and need from the local area.

Present points of interest by category

Our map now has a handy sidebar with the categories for your points of interest listed. Not only can this act as a key for your colour coded map pins but it also allows users to easily filter down to see exactly the types of amenities they are looking for. Sales agents can quickly and easily drill down to showcase the amazing schools in the local area to a young family or bring up a quick view of popular bars and restaurants to give a taste of what's on offer.

Sidebar with rich information

Within each category we now also include a sidebar with a visual list of all of the points of interest, giving users an easier way to view all of the local amenities of that type (e.g. outdoor spaces) in one simple to view list. Tapping on either an item from the list or one of the pins on the map will give the prospective home buyer a pop up with rich information including distances and travel times by foot, car or public transport from the development to that particular location.

The new location features work as standard across all devices including as a native install on large touchscreen kiosks for your marketing suite as well as our Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) which can be viewed on any screen size just like a website, giving you the freedom to promote your new development in multiple different ways.
