Privacy notice

How this website handles your information, in plain English.

Who we are

This website is run by Marmoset Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12305878). Our registered office is 46 Hullbridge Road, South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford, Essex CM3 5NG. If you have a question about this notice or your information, email [email protected].

What we collect, and why

When you book a demo through the form on this site, we receive your name, your email address, and anything else you choose to give us: your company, your phone number and your message. We use them to reply to you, arrange a demo and talk about your development. The form sends your enquiry to our team by email and keeps a copy on our server. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and on taking the steps you’ve asked for before any contract.

When you email or call us, we use your details in the same way.

When you visit the site, our server keeps standard logs (your IP address, the pages requested, the time and your browser type) for security and to fix problems.

We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising, and sending us an enquiry doesn’t sign you up to any mailing list.

Cookies and browser storage

We don’t use advertising cookies or cookie-based analytics, which is why there’s no cookie banner. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you: it only tells us, in total, which pages are read, where visitors came from and what kind of device they used. Beyond that, the site only stores what it needs to work:

  • marmoset-session and XSRF-TOKEN: cookies that keep the Book a demo form secure. They expire after two hours.

  • __cf_bm: set by Cloudflare, which protects the site from bots. It expires after 30 minutes.

  • The opening screen and the Recent work trail: kept in your browser for your current visit only, so the opening screen shows once and the Next and Back buttons know which project you came from. Both are cleared when you close the tab.

Films come from Vimeo and YouTube, and nothing loads from either until you press play. We use Vimeo’s do not track setting and YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Once a film is playing, the provider may store information in your browser, as its own privacy policy explains.

Who else is involved

We use a few trusted services to run the site, and each only receives what it needs:

  • DigitalOcean hosts the website and stores form messages.

  • Cloudflare delivers the site, protects it from attacks and counts visits without cookies.

  • Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill) sends form messages to our inbox.

  • Google Workspace hosts our email.

  • Vimeo and YouTube play our films, only when you press play.

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where your information is handled outside the UK, they protect it with safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to reply and to work with you, and we delete enquiries that don’t go anywhere. Server logs are kept for a short time, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
